I guess we'll see what the rules say. I'm not sure why a competition would pit Ferraris vs. Vipers. vs. Evos and STIs if they were going to significantly limit modifications.

Oh crap.... looks like Nelson heard about this. Check the Ferrarichat forum link. Looks like he posted at 9 p.m. today.
As far as our chances go, it really depends on how the competition format is run. Is it a forum/platform challenge in that 2 reps from each forum are nominated and then it's basically which forum/platform can take home the greatest aggregate total of wins between their 2 reps or is it going to be 2 reps from each forum (in case of failure/breakdown) and the overall winner is the one car that has the best wins/ranking overall based on its ranking in each individual event? If the format is the latter, then the 3/S has some chance of doing well. As mentioned, jack-of-all trades. If the format is the former, the 3/S has no chance whatsoever. As we're well aware, we're light years behind the extreme modded domestics when it comes to straight line. As far as roadcourse etc. goes we have a small chance, but things like the Modena definitely have an advantage in handling. Our AWD lets us use power better on corner exit, but the Ferrarichat forums mentions supercharged and TT 360's. Those things are nimble and with some decent engine mods, they'll produce good power on roadcourses. Vipers with wide tires also do pretty decent on roadcourses with good driivers behind the wheel. No doubt I've outrun Vipers and 911Turbos on shorter twisty courses with my 9b VR4, but that was almost completely due to the other drivers. In an overall single vehicle format though, we actually stand a chance because a lot of the vehicles that can totally trash even our fastest 3/S in the 1/4 don't put that power down well on a roadcourse. A mid/low 10-second 3/S can still be a giant killer on a roadcourse. Most mid/low 10-second rwd cars start getting pretty hairy on roadcourses unless they're running a lot of tire. Max

BTW, the guy who pitched the idea for the show is on Ferrarichat. He doesn't seem to make any mention about mod restrictions with the sole exception that the representing cars must be street-registered and have been street-reg'ed for the last 12 months. On the Ferrari forums, they mention 1000HP Ferraris. They sure don't come that way stock.

sure 1300whp 3000gt should give half of those people a hard time. still we really don't know how we would compet. atleast we can give it a try. on those rwd car the more you make power the harder it becomes to controll the car out of exit. we should have some advantage on road racing if not on standing mile.

Someone other than Nelson needs to contact the guy organizing that and see if we can join in, I think a few of our cars stand a decent chance, maybe not in the 1/4 mile but as far as road course I think we stand a fighting chance.

we really don't know if any of our shops would do it beside nelson. dosn't look like Matt and SCE are interested unless they have not seen this thread yet. there is no point to joining in if they don't want to show up.

I'm not sure if they plan to race, but I would love to see how AMS does. They have a lot of experience with both drag and roadcourse cars. I believe the shop still has one of each type of car. |

My car won't be competing, I won't up the boost and rag the shit out of it even if I could get it to 1800+ HP.
