I'm trying to research flywheels and so far I have found that IPS, 3SX, and DR are selling the Fidenza, the RPS, and Unorthodox. I was reading and the Unorthodox one is new to me as I have always run with the Fidenza and they have been great for me... Now what I was wondering is what everyone else thinks of the flywheels that YOU have had and what you recommend. Sorry but if you don't have a TT and have not owned one of the three or any other than stock please don't make stuff up off of what your friend told you.
Thanks |

I have a Mueller Fabrications (a.k.a. unorthodox racing) aluminum flywheel. I bought it a LOOONG time ago, and took it off for a while when I went thrugh my Twin disk phase........'nother story for another time. I replaced the contact surface on the flywheel and slapped it back on, and it still works great. no problems.

personally i like the rps segmented flywheel, but its kinda going to feel diferent driving and especially launching the car, your rps r gonna drop off faster that with a stock flywheel

I use the RPS flywheel
light like the others BUT it allows your to change out the plates so you dont have to replace the whole thing after years of abuse. mines being shipped back now. I believe its about $125 for the new plates installed and whole thing rebalanced and blueprinted |

i personally DONT like the RPS because of the segments for the same reason i dont like slotted rotors. i have a fidanza on my stealth and used it on my old vr4 but i wouldnt put a light flywheel on a car if i were drag racing it.

I've had both UR and Fidanza flywheels. Both were fine and I can't site one being better than the other. And if I remember right, the replacement plates for both of them were about the same price too.

Why would you say that??? If you really pay attention to the point of a lighter weight flywheel then you would know that lighter ones allows you to gain speed quicker but requires more hp to keep going at higher speeds and vice versa with heavier flywheels because of concept of rotating mass and inertia. Know there is the fact that I might be wrong but if I am please explain because I'm intersted in learning some thing new.
