Great work so far. Can't wait to see how it turns out. You're probably inspire several members (maybe me too) to go for the homemade widebody.

I wonder how will the bumper match up to it?? Won't there big this big sweeping curve then just straight bumper?

Would it be a bad idea to harden the fiberglass and then prep it with sand paper and primer and then just paint over it leaving the stock fender and everything under it.... ???

the rear yes, it will have to be screwed ontop of the stock fender.

on the front, I am planing on actualy pushing the top of my bumper out about an inch to match up with the lowerpart of the fender. It will curve just like the fender and finish off nicely.

thats kinda what I will have to do on the rear, might leave the foam under it, I dont know yet.
But the front I wanted to remove the stock fender for more tire clearance.

What are you going to do with the back side of it? That expanding foam is tough but it makes me a little nervous, I would want it as rigid as possible.

What you are making for your front fenders is the pattern. You will make the actual mold from this pattern. Don't forget to include the mounting points for the fender when you build your mold. If you can get tooling resin to make your mold out of, do so. It cures very hard and is very durable. You will be able to get multiple copies of the fenders before the mold starts to break down. Use plenty of mold release/wax when you lay up the actual fender...if you want actually be able to pull it from the mold.

That would be pointless. The whole point of widebody is to allow for greater tire width. You couldn't run any wider of a tire if you left the stock fenders in place. Even when he does the rear, he will need to use a sawzall and cut the underneath of the rear fender out. If he wants to truley utilize the extra width he just worked for.

thanks, i thought maybe he was just going for looks, which is another point for widebody not just to allow for greater tire width.... couldnt he just sawzall the front then too?
