Hello guys, I bought a 96' mitsubishi eclipse from a woman who was from Arizona and had moved here to San Diego than she moved back out to arizona, the car is registered in Arizona and I was told by the woman that when she arrived to Arizona she was going to send me the Pink slip...I bought the car a couple of months ago and I haven't received the pink slip yet so I wanted to know if there's anyway I can track her down..I received a signed Bill of sale from the seller and also a "3rd party reg. application(from Arizona)" that had her name and old address on it from Tucson...I already spoke to the DMV here in California and to the DMV from Arizona..I was told that the only way I can get a tittle is if the old registered owner applies for one in the DMV and there is no other way...I want to get the car registered here in cali. but I need to track down the last registered owner and the DMV don't want to help out.
can I track the last registered owner with only the license plate?? can anyone here help me run the license plate or the Vin number...or something to speak to the last registered owner who sold it to me. Here is the Vin number: 4A3AK54FXTE374713 License plate number: 022.SWY Thanks, frank |

Try calling the Tucson police dept. They might not give you the address but they might be willing to track her down and remind her that she has unfinished business. She could also be facing fraud charges if she doesn't follow through.
Good luck! |

I would agree that's your best bet. You might get lucky and have someone at the DMV tell you the info. I'm not sure who is really at fault here, because I don't think the 3rd party had the right to sell the car without the title.
You might try a "reverse lookup" of the old address to see if you can get a phone number, and just a search by the name in the surrounding area. My brother had a similar situation and we actually found the person on the title by google'ing the name...they came over and signed the paperwork and we were good to go - it was over a year after the car was sold. |
