Default engine swap

So i have a 1992 dodge stealth R/T DOHC with 235xxxkms on it, the engine bay and engine itself seems to be pretty worn down i.e. sludge is everywhere(don't really know if that's really bad or not just stating it wasn't very well kept). i bought the car maybe 3 months ago and immediately found that these cars need a lot of maintenance. So this past week i bought a 1994 3000gt SL with 123xxxkms on it and was very well maintained with all service records at the dealership, but he rolled it on the highway when a tire fell off so i bought it for $340, mainly wanted it for the tranny due to mine is grinding constantly. but I'm trying to figure out weather or not i should take the engine out and sell it or put it into my car? I'm planning on modding my car following the N/A UPGRADE BIBLE i found on this site. but don't know if i should just let this engine run out as I'm working on the detached engine then swap it when it blows or keep my current engine and mod it with good service? any advice would help thanks alot

You can either do the swap and sell your engine and tranny, or just keep it as a spare in case something happens to yours. If your car runs fine like it is, I'd just go the second route, it will definitely save you money in the long run.

its a lot of work to swap an engine. so swapping a motor that already has 123,xxx miles on it might not be the best choice. but if you plan to do the swap then there is more to it than you think. first off, the stealth is first gen and the 3000 is second gen. if you only swap tranny's you will still have to swap the cv shafts and mid shafts, due to the spline differnence. i'm not sure about the wheel hubs themselves. the motor has a few extra sensors that your ecu wont recognize so you will have to remove them and use your stealth's wire harness. i think thats the majority of it. correct me if i'm wrong anyone.

It wouldn't really be all that much work, considering he has a whole parts car. I'm no pro as far as the NA cars goes, but I didn't think there was a spline difference on them. If there is, he should have all the parts he needs to make it work with a whole parts car. Any extra sensors the engine may have, he can just leave in place and not plugged in. Assuming he's still running his ECU and wiring harness it will run just like his present engine.

ok so i think ive made up my mind, ill keep the engine and tranny. so from what ive heard your saying that if i swap engine ill have a few extra sensors lying around but now im confused, do i NEED to plug these sensors in or can i just leave the extera unplugged and just plug in the sensors im currently using and my car will run like normal? what are these extera sensors and what do they do? if i grab them off the parts car would i need a new ECU since the one in my parts car is toste. i also thing the 2g is a diffrent engine mount system than the 1g 2 engine mount system.

The only extra sensor I know of for sure that the newer engine will have is the crank sensor, but there are probably a few others. If you don't have a plug on your wiring harness for any given sensor, don't worry about it, just leave it where its at. Your ECU won't know or care that your engine has more sensors than it has plugs for.

What do you mean 1g 2 engine mounts? They should both have 4 (front, rear, driver's and transmission) and they should be identical...unless one is SOHC in which case we really shouldn't even be considering this.

oh ok nvm about the 2 engine mounts ive been fed wrong info and i remember now lol. ok aslong as my ECU dosnt freak out with a diffrent motor im happy. so when i pop out my engine what should i do to it? im thinking of adding NOS eventually because i dont want tt because its my daily driver and dont need the headach but still gotta keep up the stealth name against some street kids i was thinking basicly everything on the N/A UPGRADE BIBLE post ill pretty much get around to doing but ill do everything i can to my engine while its out. so if anyone wants to add something that wasnt listed on N/A UPGRADE BIBLE. i would love to know what would make a N/A faster and last longer.
