Mitsubishi ebay downpipe vs 3sx downpipe!

hey guys i was thinking about get a downpipe for my na SL 96. i look on ebay and i found for 110.00, that looks nice. search on 3sx but for 300.00, double the price of the ebay. so my question is which is better?.

110 vs 300 is triple, not double
I have ebay downpipe (Megan) on my TT, works just fine. For N/A wouldn't matter which downpipe you have anyway as long as it fits.

the ol' ebay downpipe... i put one on my cali spec 96 NA. ya it was cheap at first... but getting the shop to fix the flanges so they'd line up, weld in some o2 bungs, and all the headaches that thing gave me i'd say it was about even up to just buying a 3sx pipe

And there ya go. 3sx's DP is ready to install, perfect fit every time.

Cheap eBay, and you'll spend more later on having some hack muffler shop try to fix it.

If you get the ebay one it might or might not fit without modifications. It seems to be almost 50/50 as to rather they bolt up properly are not. If you get the 3sx one it's almost a guarantee that it's going to bolt up without any problems. Basically you half to decide rather it's worth saving the money to go through the hassle of possibly having to have the ebay one cut up and re welded to fit.

I installed a cheap ebay downpipe on a second gen and it fit flawlessly. In addition I would say it was better than the ATR due to thinker flanges and it did not taper down for the connection at the cat back. However, several vendors on ebay selling these things so it could be hit or miss.

eBay Motors: Exhaust Downpipe 3000GT 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 NT NA (item 150290410836 end time Sep-07-08 18:09:37 PDT)

I HOPE to god your not talking about that n/a downpipe

if you look at the section that attaches to the rear bank manifold.....as it comes down and joins with the front bank it shoots the gases to the front of the car only to be stopped and turned amost 180 degrees back the other direction

refer to red arrows

which arrow doesnt belong? lol

The vr4 one's off ebay flow nicely, the n/a ones are cracked out and I dont see that being good for smooth flow.

The 3sx downpipe is amazing, according to the mechanic who did my motor swap (had him put in the downpipe while he was putting it back together and I had it sitting in my basement) and he said it was the easiest downpipe install he's ever done

Exactly. Its made backwards and it is only designed to even bolt up to a fed spec anyway so it wont fit your 96.

Get the 3sx DP. Its awesome.
