Envious for a VR-4

I know its a noob question, but as some of you may already know, us DSM'ers can do a ton of stuff with our ECU's because of their eprom capabilities(whoever is lucky enough to get one). Im not going to go much into details but I was wondering since the 3/s car are infact made my Mitsubishi as well, why isn't there any intrest in ecu modding for the 3/s platform? Has it been confirmed that 3/s cars dont come with eproms?
Check this out.. http://www.tmo.com/howto/ecu1g/checkeprom.htm http://www.tmo.com/howto/ecu2g/checkeprom.htm I dont know how much research has been done on this topic, so thats why I asked the question. what do you guys think? Thanks ![]() Nomie

The 3S does have an eprom, it's encrypted much differently than the DSM one is though. I believe the only ECU hacks are a raised rev limiter at the moment.
Unless I'm completely mistaken here and misunderstood something lol.

FYI, in the DSM camp, 95 year cars had the most probable chance of having the EPROM for the 2nd gens and in the 1g era I believe it was the 90-92's.
Its dissapointing... The benefit with eproms is that, if someone were to run 780cc injectors all they would need would be a chipped ecu for the fuel control.. |
