Does everyone get used to power???

I went from a sohc 3000gt to a Trailblazer SS and at first it was like holy shit this things fast. After two weeks I don't even feel the acceleration anymore. It actually feels like my sohc now. Do you guys with high horsepower cars like 500+ hp get used to the feeling too? Maybe I should take a break driving it or drive a slower car for a while.

I don't know, that's a good question, I'm kinda wondering the same thing as well.

I need an hks ignition amplifier to really turn up the boost on my car, and I have been holding off and holding off getting it cause I'm like why the fuck do you need more moneyto be fast, gurrl?!! And I just don't really have the funds to spend right now, work is slow as fuck and I dropped a ton of money on it already, and i'm like MAN, another 400?? sheeesh. But my 95 vr4 is about 420hp to the wheels, and when I first got it back, I was like this thing is scary FAST, OMG, omg! But after awhile, I sorta gotten used to it like meh. And I never thought I would.

I was like man, I'm settled for life brah!! Iz gots the fastest car on ze planet, but nah, not really, in retro spec it's actually slow as FUCK. To think, there are cars running around with 6, 7, 8, 9, 1000hp! What. the. literal. FUCK.

I got raped on the highway by like a 600hp corvette. Literally, it raped me, it blew my doors off, like I wasn't even moving!

For example, this mazda 3, or something pulled up next to me on the highway today, and I wasn't going to race cause I didn't want to waste the gas, but then I didn't want him thinking I was a pussy, give the vr4 a bad rep, ya know? So I dropped it down in to 4th from 6th, mind you this is a 16g car so it was kinda dumb to drop into 4th, but anyway, it started building and building boost, and it felt like it took foooreverrrr to get going. Really, I was like looking down at my wristwatch at the same time, and making a phone call too, like WTF man? And basically it never really got to that scary fast feeling where it felt like the car was pulling me, instead I was just waiting around, like wtf? But i look in the rear view mirror and dude was wayy the fuck back there, and I was like oh I guess it is kinda fast, and I looked at the speedo and it was like 140. So ya, I guess it's fast, but in retro spec, it's not.

hahaha yeah hp is like crack, ever see a crack head that forgot he was high? I was just shy of 500awhp..... upgrading the turbo again. I remember being on my gsxr 600 wot in 3rd watching the tach climb with boredom.....

I can only feel "the pull" u know that suck into the back of the seat feeling...in 1st gear an thats becuase i rarely get on it in 1st, only if i get pissed at some d-bag or something worth luanching or hitting it in 1st against

I got my car back from pampena's with 480awhp and a week later i wanted more.......but its still a hell of alot of fun, u just want more

So yes u do get used to it but u can offset effects by granny driving (less than 2k rpms) for a couple weeks but thats really hard

Now that Shiites funny. From watching that video, that ain't no damn power.. Then again he must have been below 400hp. 656 is scary ass hell, I can only imagine what 7 to 1000 feels like...

At first it feels great. You get pushed back into the seat hard, things almost go in slow motion, you feel like everything is passing by faster than it really is, but you get used to it. I even dd a tiny 90hp diesel car and then jump into my 650-700hp Stealth every few weeks. It still doesn't scare/wake you up like the first time. It's fun no doubt but leaves you wanting more.

I put my stealth away for the winter, and drive a slow car during the winter. Every spring is a joy cuz you get that same feeling again -- like the first day when you modded your car.
