Default do these cars ever idle correctly?

It seems like every time I get this car running perfectly, something else has to go wrong with it...despite it's 52k miles...

last year, the car just started stalling...the idle was bumped up a little to tack care of it temporarily...yesturday, I cleaned the idle speed controller with electronics parts cleaner...it did nothing...i took another used idle air speed controller from a car "that ran perfectly", cleaned it, put it in..and now my car just falls from 2K to 1K about 2 tiems a second..up and down...up and down..and then on the way home, it worked good for about 2 minutes...then up and down..the freaking air idle screw is all the way in (or out), whichever direction lowers the idle...and the car still idles high and retarded...what the hell can I do to fix this thing....i know there is a procedure to adjust the idle..but I searched the archives and I can't find anything about that..

clean your mas and also the seal on the BISS screw might be bad or you have a leak on your TB

Maybe this will help....

According to the chart there are at least 8 things to check....

That "perfect" IAC is probly bad. Sounds like you have a vac leak also.

Base idle adjustment, search the wiki.

with my original idle speed controller..the idle isn't horrible..i just have to bump the idle up a bit...however, when I start the car...it tries to rev up super quickly, but then drops right down to idle...it's like there's a surge of throttle and then the ECU catches it and drops it down to idle...any idea what that could be?

with this other IAC...it just idles retarded-like..hah..

the other thing I noticed that this goofy car does...is when you are in 1st, just moving slow..10 miles an hour maybe...barely on the throttle..the car will jerk back and forth real lightly..as if you are JUST missing the pedal..know what i mean? like you are opening and closing the throttle by the tiniest amount....it's so damn annoying..would that have something to do with the incorrect air for idle?

Dude, you and I are having the EXACT same problems. Not even funny. My car does the idle up and down thing, I have tried the biss screw and I have checked the resistance on the IAC. My car jerks real fast in first, too. I have tried a few things, and I am getting a little annoyed. I'm looking forward to more suggestions.

Right on top of the throttle body under a rubber plug. I think I turned it in to adjust idle down.
