My car has Ross Pistons, and even on it's 1031 hp hp Dyno pulls the highest knock count the stock ECU ever showed was a 4 count. On the track on my 8 second passes on 1 pass it showed a knock count of 1. That’s a prity dam quiet 1000hp motor if you ask me, ross pistons and all.

Im talking about the off shelf ross pistons which is not in your engine. They are noisier than the other off-shelf pistons. The same pistons that were in your first engine that was built in your white stralth many moons ago matt.

although i hate telling other engine builders how to do things (not you Chris/3sx lol) .0045" gives long life and no noise. if theres noise, they are looser than that.

my custom piston uses a custom barrel/cam design that has a stronger skirt for even more life and abuse. all shelf stock pistons of any brand are designed for what they think you would need. a general application race piston in your bore and comp height.
the ones i built are for THESE engines only and are built around a trick ring pack and custom barrel.

Sin, you will be fine with those shelf units if you use the right piston to wall. a good machinist will know whats best for you. if they are set up too loose, just like with ANY piston, you will have noise.

im on a goddamn post a thon!
