discounttire broke off two lugs in wheel change - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

Took my 3kgt to discounttire co. today after buying some kuhmo spt's for my 18's. when they were taking off my stock wheels, they said a lug bolt on each of the front rims broke off. After a few words, they've agreed to replace the bolts at no charge.

That's great, but now I need two stock lug nuts to replace the one's they broke to complete my set for the sock rims. any ideas where i can get them? fortunately, they were just plain lugs and not the wheel locking lugs.

So you need what two stock lug nuts, like the chrome ones? Pay for shipping and I can send you a few I have like an odd number 14 or so, they do me no good since its not a set

can you just get them at the parts store? I did for my chryslers.

They break them because the jackasses use 600ft/lb air wrenches.

you can get stock bulge seat replacements from autozone for a few bucks a piece.

yeah, americas tire did the same to me. it was easier for me to just buy 2 new ones from autozone and smack them in than take it back, plus why take it somewhere that does this?

The lady in front of me when i dropped my car off was coming in to complain about having 3 stripped lugs, and they said to have them replaced somewhere else and send the reciept...
whatever...

Discount tire once used the regular weights on the face of one of my chrome wheels once when I had told them to use the tape weights. I discovered the problem weeks later. No damage done but I was pissed.

how do you 'smack them in'? I'm not mechanically inclined. is it easy to replace the lug bolts, and how to do it?

I am amazed they argreed to replace them if they broke while taking the wheels off. That would not be their fault, but the person who put the wheels on last.

Discount Tire stripped one of my lugs too, they just cleaned it up and I went on my way. Not too bad, but I've sinced replaced it now that I'm running a 5mm spacer. Better safe than sorry.

One thing that pissed me off more was a separate occassion when one of my lugnuts came off on the drive home from getting new tires and wheels mounted there. I just noticed it was gone when I got home. Since they're the keyed type for aftermarket wheels, I had to spring for a whole new set. They discounted it a ton after I bitched, but I was pissed I had to pay anything for it.
