lol your right i got nothing either but house of color do it, the paint on the prowler is candy red. its painted over bright silver. candy is simply a dye you add to the clear coat so the bright dirict light will show bright orange. the red car in my sig was the same.

it used to be called flip-flop paint, but I can't really find a lot on google about it (other than one article about BASF that wants you to register to read it). There were several different versions (green-blue and red-black are the first ones that I can think of) and they completely changed color depending on the angle/light (hence the name flip-flop).

well, here's a green/purple bicycle...

Default is an unknown quantity at this point

If i would paint something like that i would probably do a yellowish orange base, then add a heavy pearl red clear coat over it, that would give it the color change.....

I did a black->blue pearl it was nice. Some light it looked pure black, then some it looked like a dark navy blue.

I know any shop would know how to do it for ya, but it'd cost more

the flip flop paint wasn't like a pearl though- IIRC, it used a flake inside the paint that was a different color than the base color of the paint. As long as the paint was properly applied, the flakes laid at the same angle, so the paint looked to be a different color depending on the angle. How was it applied properly? No idea
