custom paint colors?

i saw a car the other day with a cool color. it shifted from red to orange and i've been trying to find the name. does anyone know what i'm talking about? it's not kameleon or chromaflair. i've looked up those and they don't match with what i've seen.

this is close to what i saw, but this one also has yellow. more pix in the ebay link.

I think that's just candy with a light bright base like silver, gold would be darker and less of a candy effect.

that pic is somewhat the color i'm referring to. not the exact color. that prowler is actually factory orange. i'm talking about an actual color shift from red to orange.

look up flash paint, flash is usually the main color switch paint for custom jobs

its custom, usually how that is done, is the car is painted something like a bright red, and then a a few layered of orange tinted clear coat, that way looking at it straight on makes it look red, but the more of an angle that you catch if from the more you see the tint in the clearcoat

actually, that prowler likely has an orange base, with red tinted clearcoat, but red tinted clear coat is notorious for fading with time and becoming more of a brown colour.

i just googled "flash paint" automotive and it didn't come up with anything very related. thanks tho!

it has a bit of orange shift in it, try lookin at house of kolors
