Put me under the "likes to delete crap" category. When I deleted the lines to the throttle body I just filled the hole for the fiav with epoxy. Works like a charm. I just enjoy having an empty bay.

Different strokes for different folks.

I kept all my solenoids and such because they dont hurt performance and only serve to make the car more efficient and happen to make it more environmentally friendly for which I would not go out of my way to achieve but not going to mess it up if I get no gain out of it. Cars run more efficiently with things like recirculating BOVs, EGR and in this case the coolant to throttle does only good so why get rid of it. I got 400 miles to my last tank (17 gallons) punching it frequently and idling alot checking the tune...a good mix of highway and local streets. My Pontiac GTO gets about 240miles to 15 gallons. My VR4 gets over 400awhp, my GTO about 320-330rwhp, both on super. If I need to sell my car, it just needs stock injectors, downpipe with cats and plug the stock ECU back in and its good to go. The EGR dillutes intake charge at idle and cruise so your using less fuel in the combustion chamber. I wish the AEM operated that like OEM, I would be getting even better mileage.

I'd hump your leg if you do that to my engine bay.

Thumbs up Re: Coolant flow to throttle body - still necessary?

Thanks for the input guys. I actually wasn't aware that the coolant flow to the TB operated the FIAV, so I'm glad I posted this thread. Personally, I love the way my car idles right now in all conditions hot or cold, so I'm not going to take any chances with the delete, for now.

Thanks again,
Jeff
