I've had 2 spec clutches that popped springs out of the disk. The second time I had symptoms like you are describing. It depends on which way the spring pops out. The 1st time it popped out of the passenger side of the disk, the second time it popped out of the drivers side (so it wedged itself in between the dis and the pressure plate). You *might* be able to take a mirror and a flash light and pull off the dust shield on the bottom of the tranny and see something before pulling it off.

Morning reading pwns me, anyway just make sure you've jacked the car up high enough or it makes removal/installation of the tranny a pain.

As far as the ignition issue, check the wiring between the PTU and the coil. Check between the PTU and the ECU as well. Check for continuity when its off and voltage signals when its running. It's a pretty simple system: ECU > PTU > Coil > Wires > Plugs. Have you sprayed water on the coils when its running to check for arcing? All else fails replace them, they're cheap to get from here. I have a good PTU that I bought and haven't used b/c it ended up being the coil.

Same thing happened to my car. First, the stock clutch popped a spring causing me to be locked out of the gears. I replaced the clutch with spec stage 2 which had two springs already popping out!! This weekend I replaced the stage 2 with a spec stage 4 unsprung. Good luck with your car and I hope u get a unsprung clutch this time.
