Default Re: Clutch Problems: Things to do before pulling the transmission.

Update: alright.. so the slave should be depressed and when you push the clutch in it pushes on the release fork causing the clutch to disengage right? Well it looks like the slave is already pushing the fork in, and if i grab the fork I can manually push the slave back in..
The fork also has play!! if i grab it and move it, it makes rattling inside the transmission!!

it pulls for ward with the car in gear and the clutch in?

I was talking about with the clutch in!

If the car creeps foward in gear with the clutch in then you know your clutch isnt releasing. Another problem is found when someone damages the pressure plate and it gets imbalanced...that the car will creep if you rev the motor fairly high because the offbalance pressure plate will start contacting the disc and moving the car.

I redlighted at the track once on a bad pressure plate...I just rolled through the lights while holding rpms for launch.

lol.. yea, its not releasing when the clutch is pushed in. It will roll forward if I try to start it in gear with the clutch pushed in. Another thing I saw people had problems with is a spring popping out of the clutch disk.... since I have a sprung 6 puck this might be the problem.... any other ideas folks?? anyone watch the video??

Looks like a problem with the fork. Doesn't look like its on the fulcrum all the way. As was said earlier.

Make a video of the slave cylinder while someone else pushes in the clutch pedal.

The spring popping out is another good answer.

Pretty much, if it is the fork off the fulcrum you could probably work it back onto it without dropping the trans. But then it would just come back off at some point.

I wouldn't commit to that answer yet, can you get that video of the slave when the pedal is being pushed?

The fork looks good. I am going to go with one of my guesses of the pressure plate having damaged fingers.
