Default Re: Cianci front strut bar - can't close hood?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I would post pics but i'm afraid it wouldn't tell you anything conclusive... it looks to be installed fine, no hitches. However, I did install the ECS covers over top of the strut bar (as it seemed to be the best) is that the right way?

It sounds like those of you who didn't have any problems have 2nd gens. I'm guessing this could be a generational problem, seeing as how 3000gt1999 had the same problem.

My car was in a minor fender bender, nothing that would affect the mounting of the strut bar.

the bar couldn't been on backwards. Its a 3 point.

Anyone else have a 1st gen and have this bar, want to share some insight? I'm going to try taking out the heat shield.

I dont think people really care if the picture wont tell anything.

lack of "wanting" to take a picture when you have the ability makes everything seem very shady.

Your words haven't really told anything so what harm are pictures going to do?

Hey bro, I own a 1993 vr4 and just bought a front strut bar like you did but it was like last week and try putting on my car and have the same issue...the hood close and leave a gap too..I even remove the heat shield and still the same issue. For what I think, 94 up have not issue. And I did contact the company and they told me that they did try on the a 97 and 91 vr4 before send it to me...but I do not know what really wrong with it because it fit their 91 vr4 and not mind...or it may be a defected items where they might have weld it too high, that's what I was thinking that might cause the issue for the hood to not close tightly. As a result they refund my money back and I have to ship it back to them...Hope this help you too bro...

I kept my strut covers on the bottom, it's a snug fit but they will fit through the hole, but i guess it doesn't really matter which way it goes on. I also thought it might be a generation problem.

Default Re: Cianci front strut bar - can't close hood?

we currently have the bar installed on 2 local 1st gens that are driving around at this moment and 2 more that are just sitting. it will be installed on 2 more local 1st gens by the end of the week.

the bar was built on my 97 and test fitted on 2 first gens known to never have been in a front end accident before being released. it was also tested with both stock and all of ciancis fiberglass hoods.

it is possible your car is bent. might be worth it to do an alignment and have it checked on a frame machine.

very doubtful. Did they have to remove the heat shielding on the hood or do anything else?

Are you a spokesperson for Cianci?
