Default Building a Mad Max style 3/s, looking for suggestions!

This is in fact a REAL project.

I am building a Mad Max style '94 3/s for Burning Man next year. It will be driven cross country, and back, so all modifications need to be roadworthy.

The car is a N/A auto, no sunroof. Reliability is very important : ) I know it could be a 5 speed but I don't believe auto-combat would be as easy if I need to think about shifting while I reload my machine guns...

The car will be driven in the desert on sand, and through extreme weathers of all types, day and night.

I already have a decent list of modifications I will be doing to the car, and am looking for any input or suggestions!

I have no experience off-roading or doing off-road rallye, but this is something I need to consider with the build.

You'll want a shift kit and better cooler for the trans. I wouldn't go cross country in those conditions without either.

I know a place that can do the Trans cooler and shift kit here in NJ after I'm done with the engine / tranny swap from my parts car. (Parts car had 60k done 3k before it got wrecked 0.0)

It might be a year away but there will be a LOT of pictures.

Does anyone know where to buy the trans cooler used with our cars?

3sx also has a great 2" thick aftermarket radiator for only $290 that I will be buying

A FWD 3/S driven on sand? I think an AWD car would perform much better.

lol. It costs a lot to go out to Burning man, none of the people I know are unemployed.

I chose the FWD because first, I have the car already and was doing nothing with it, and second, cross country driving needs the reliability of a simpler car.

With fat enough tires on 15" wheels deflated, it'll be decent in sand unless it has too much power.

P.S. - half the people i know going are Aussies : ) theyll back me up
