Seriously, a rebuild CAN be done for cheap if you are not planning on building a monster.
1.You can get refurbished forged cranks for 300
2.and then just get a set of used pistons/rods for 150.
3.Gaskets, fluids, bearings 200
4.Timing belt stuff 200
5. Oil pump 150?
We are looking at about 1000 max, and honestly it would be fine.

I rebuilt the spun bearing motor on the SL I bought for 600 and it runs great.

I do want to make more power, although I'm not sure whether I should consider building it out or just running stock internals. Part of me wants to save up a ton of money and build the motor to run 600+ whp. But realistically I'll probably just do a stock rebuild if the block is in decent shape

Edit: one of my mechanic buddies looked at it and said it was "definitely spun a bearing". ehhh
