Default Bad to use nicked harmonic balancer (crank pulley)?

I have two of these. I knew one was nicked (had a small piece missing from the outer edge). I wasn't going to use it. I thought the other was perfect, but it apparently dropped itself when I wasn't around (don't you love when that happens?). Now both are slightly nicked. Can these be used or will they somehow hurt the alternator/ac belt?

are they after market or stock? if they're stock, you'll be fine. assuming by "nicked" you mean something so little that it's almost careless about it. lol. if it's some after market light weight stuff. throw it away!

These harmonic balancers are starting to get old and ppl have had them start flying apart on them. I almost think they should be added to the 120k. If its nicked and not fairly new I would say go ahead and bite the bullet to get a new one for peice of mind.

Thanks for the advice. They are both OEM. The "nicks" are semicircular pieces missing from the edge about half an inch long and 1/8 inch deep. Considering the newer one is still 13 years old and the one I was going to reuse is 17, new one is probably a good idea. Now I just have to track down a new v-belt crank pulley.
