Default Autotrader Scam?

I'm buying a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder VR4 with 47.5K miles for $13K from a private seller on AutoTrader.com. I sent an e-mail if they would take payments on the car and they said yes they would and this is what they sent me.

"Yes, we can arrange something with the payment system and I agree with the $5000 on sight.

Thank you for getting back to me. I work as flight attendant for a major airlines.

Now I am living at my parents in Chicago and the car is also in Chicago. Although the car is in perfect condition and it runes really great, I want to sell it as soon as possible.

As I am mostly on the run I will sell the car through Autotrader. They have a special service, acting like a third party offering assistance and protection for both of us. Basically it is quite simple and safe, working like this:
- you reserve the care by sending an advance payment of $2500 to AutoTrader
- AutoTrader informs me to ship the car
- you receive the vehicle and you have three days to verify the car.

If the vehicle is not what you have been lead to believe it is (though I doubt it, because I know for sure that you'll love it):
- you notify AutoTrader that the car is not what you were lead to believe it was
- AutoTrader arranges to have the vehicle picked up from your residence (with no extra expenses for you)
- AutoTrader refunds your $2500.

If the car is as great as you expect it to be you will send the balance of money directly to me.
Please send me your full name and your address in order to start the process. I will pay the fee for starting the transaction so you wont have to pay for anything."

On the autotrader ad it says the car is located in Texas. More information is that she said that she got the car from her husband from an recent divorce settlement and need to sell the car to pay the divorce bills. I dunno if autotrader has a 3rd party program like this. I hope it's not too good to be true. I'm not sure if she's paying shipping, she's assuming autotrader is, or I am.

Here's the link to the ad: Cars for Sale: 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder VR-4 Convertible in LEWISVILLE, TX 75067: Convertible Details - 273766939 - AutoTrader.com

Don't ever do anything that says they'll ship you a product. Right when you see that you know it's a scam.
