Default another "my car starts sometimes and sometimes it doesn't" thread

so it all started after my fmic installation. the battery I had was too big and couldn't fit with the new intake pipe so I'm borrowing a small one from a friend. ( not sure if that matters but I thought I would mention) so I'm driving around and everythings good, park at my house, turn the car off, wait like 20 minutes, go back outside and the car won't start. so we check for spark and theres none. so we change the front three wires and it starts. drive around for about a week and the cars fine. every once in a while it will crank and not start a couple times then eventually start. last night car won't start at all. no spark whatsoever so we sit there and fiddle with this n that....nothing. so a friend of mine tells me that its the "module" for the spark plugs. so we let it sit for about a half hour, then it starts. but now my engine temp gauge isnt working. I'm lost. anybody got any ideas?

oh coming off the battery? I'll check those. also, I have a wire sticking out of the cable going to the spark plugs, I was told that its a ground. would it make a difference if it isnt grounded?
