Hi guys, I have been lurking around here for awhile and have finally found a decent VR4 for sale. It's a 93 VR4 with just under 100k miles. It appears to be all stock and only needs two new front seats. I offered $5,400 cash and they accepted. I'm wondering if this is a fair price? KBB says $6,800 for one in good shape, but I feel like that's a bit high. What are your opinions?
From the information provided, the car is all stock. The description says well maintained, but who knows what that really means. I'm going to ask for service records etc. when I go to see it. It's at a dealership so I hope that the car should be in a little better shape over private party. From the pictures the paint looks to be ok, hard to tell if it's faded or not. The interior is good except the shift knob and two front seats are ripped up.

It's usually the opposite with these cars IMO. Ask if/when the 60K service was done, if they don't have any records of it being done, I would use that to negotiate the price down. Check the oil pan for dents.
Anything "cosmetics" can be easily fixed... but any kind of mechanical issues can get costly.

agreed! most 3s owners know there cars well out of necessity. Most dealerships just do a fluid change and a quick check then try to make a quick turnaround.
I'm definitely going to ask about the 60k service and inspect the oil pan. Assuming that everything mechanically is sound, and the cosmetics are good aside from the seats, does this sound like a good price tho? I found seats for $400.
