This came up in other thread but no one has answered my question and it's kind of holding me up so if someone could answer here but yeah there are 6 black plastic pieces in my plenum took some that were loose out they go along the back part where it has a "C" shape... someone said nothing should be in plenum so should i take them out??

i was gonna say the rubber from the seal in the y-pipe..but i dont think you are turbo...so i really dont know? never seen those before

They are in all DOHC plenums. You will want to put those back in, they are there for a reason. Now that reason I do not know, but if you leave them out let me know how the car runs.

thanks everyone for help/knowledge... but uhm how to i put them back in?? can't get them in proper orientation w/o taking apart the plenum and idk how to do that. took the allen wrench screws out and it still seems like it's glued together or some adhesive
that's weird. I've never seen on any of the two n/a 3s I've own or even my vr4. As for the plenum, you could try to use a flat head drive to pry it if that works. There shouldn't be any rtv or anything on there, just a thin gasket.
