My 5 speed was awesome on the road course! I was in second gear while others were in third or fourth, thus the power is always there and available.

I have a 6 speed with the JDM final drive in my 92, I liked it much much more for autox/roadcourse driving than the 5 speed

5 spd with EK2 Transfer case Cage.

I popped my TC in 1 launch with the maximal brace. maTT went thru 6 TCs with the maximal brace. After the EK2 he abused it for over a year or longer with no issues.

Well, that's a kick in the pouch. I should have read up on it more.

Roughly, what kind of power were you and/or maTT making during the failures?

More like: 5spd + 300m + SS/billet xfercase + exo cage = bulletproof...

It's hard to say what power is being generated at launch in relation to a Max power 3rd gear dyno pull.

I do't anti lag or anything off the line. My car is not lite but not stock weight. Probably close to stock weight. I think when I browk my TC I was in the 650-700AWHP AWTQ range? A little lower than I am now. But again, that is a 3rd gear dyno pull, no idea what it makes on a launch.

How your car squats/transfers weight has something to do with it also.

I have stock suspension with 100,000 miles on it.

maTT had about 500-550AWHP and Tien coil over suspension.

I agree... the ek2 cage is the way to go if you can't afford to go big (stainless or billet).

And to add, 300M output shaft which is what I have.

And what boostaddict said, EK2, unless you can afford the SS cases, then it's a no brainer but that get expensive quick.

I also love the ek2 brace.

It is pretty enough I wish I had a spare one on a shelf. You can tell some real engineering and care went into it. I feel a lot safer launching on it than when I had nothing, but I have never broken a tc, so I can't really say how much difference it makes.
