damage to the pulley
Image: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b285/cloudsquall/3000GT/DSC00195.jpg

now question is should water pump be reused or get a new one? obviously a new belt will be required which sucks cause both got about 2k miles on them only god knows how long its been like that before i figured it out

Advice on installing dual cig/utility plug

I'm not good with electronic knowledge so I'm asking for it.

I bought one of those triple cigarette lighter/utility power ports awhile back and now I wanna install it. Its going under the passenger side dash close to the center console. So my first thought was to just splice it into one of the the cig lighters from the center console, but not sure how much draw they can handle before popping a fuse.
I won't be using the one next to the AA switch and the cig lighter I use for my iPod FM transmitter/recharger thing. I want the utility pod hidden to clean it up. I would be using it to power my GPS and cell charger (which i don't use often, but want it there in case.

It came with a plug to go into a cig lighter to make 1 into 3 and the plug has a 8amp fuse.

So, should I just splice into whats there? I've seen some go straight off the battery, but can't that cause interference from the alternator?

Need Help Finding An Rolling Chassis. Thanks All!

Hi all Ive finally got everything back on track and have enough saved up to start looking for a rolling chassis.

Cost:
1k or less

Criteria:
-94+
-Must have all body paneling etc from the doors forward (including skirts)
-radiator
-hood
-headlights

I do not need an engine or care if it has been hit from behind. Also glass does not matter nor does color.

I am looking to use the donor car to repair mine that has a front end collision.

Thank you all very much.

(already checked C-list / Also checked the classified and really only saw a 92 locally.)

The owner is totally screwed, he's going to lose his job and have to drop out of college cause of this. He only has liability insurance and is still paying off the loan for the car and is currently broke living in an apartment with his brother.

Last night from 11 to 6am this car was stolen in Arlington off of Pioneer Pkwy and 360. The car was not running and had to have been towed out of the apartment complex.

We know it was not the apartment complex who had it towed and a police report was filed.

*THE CAR WAS SEEN BEING TOWED BY A RED TOW TRUCK AT 1AM, he had just left his apartment at 12:50 so someone must have been watching. The tow truck company that the apartment complex uses actually had a driver there around that time who witnessed the car being towed but assumed it was a repo and thought nothing of it.*

The car is a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4.

The License Plate # is Y86MHL

The Vin # is ja3xe74c8ny021862

Please keep a look out for parts for sale for the car, anyone parting out a vr4, etc.

Here are some photos of the car at the location it was stolen.

Well I planned on leaving today from waco to go home to Corpus and see my family and friends for my 21st b-day tomorrow. I packed up my stuff, put it in the car. Went to start it and it just turns and turns and doesnt start.

The car has been sitting since the last day of the texas gathering. I was going to drive the car since then but the battery died from my click click start issue so I just left it. And today I tried to start it after jumping the car. And nothing.

Ive tried starting it with the emanage wired in, then I unplugged the emanage and tried starting it with just the ecu. Still just turns with no start.

Car was running when I parked it. Now wont start. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a 1997 base 3000GT in need of the 60K tune-up. Does anyone know a good mechanic in the Plano/Richardson (or wider) area who could do this? Just got an outrageous quote from the local dealer.

Thanks!

The *Mountain Creek Classic* rally starts and ends at a new restaurant in Cedar Hill. A drive in the country follows, with some pretty scenery and interesting landmarks....all along with some serious rally competition. This was our most popular rally in 2008.

This is the last chance to earn points in the Texas Region SCCA RoadRally Championship. It's on Saturday, November 21; registration opens at 9am.

The cost is just $30 for those who preregister. You can do so at tinyurl.com/MCC09msr. If you haven't run with us this year, you will have to join our group on MotorsportsReg.com, then fill out the registration forms. You can pay them, pay via PayPal, or pay on rally day. Whichever way you pay, preregistration saves you $5. The flyer is attached.

Classes are experience-based, so you are always running against people who have been rallying as long as you have. We have every kind of sports car (and a few SUVs) in our events, so come and join the fun!

Ok so tomorrow around 1 I'm going to arlington to look at a vr4 that wasn't running well soon after a complete engine rebuild, the fuel was cutting out. The owner thought it was the fuel pump and bought and installed a walbro 255, but it wouldn't start after so he bought a hotwire kit, that didn't work, he ran a wire straight from the battery to the fuel pump and the pump didn't even come on.

So I'm going to look at it tomorrow at 1 like I said and was wondering if anyone that knows enough about them or think they can diagnose it would be able to come there and look at it with me?

I have been talking to member VR3.9 and he said it could be the ecu, if no one can help me, can you give me an exact list of what to check and look for?

He has the original pump, and we can put it back in if the walbro one is bad.

Decided to start a thread since the other ones that mention Corpus are a couple of months old.

Moved from San Diego, CA to Corpus about 8 months ago when I left the service and bought a '91 VR-4 about a month ago. Now it's sitting in my garage since it won't start and I get overwhelmed when I look online. (Too many possibilities and not enough experience in diagnosing.) I saw that there are a few people local here and was hoping to meet up with someone so I could discuss either how to diagnose things on this car correctly or help me take steps in the right direction to get it running again. (Every time I look online for parts I end up with a huge list and nothing done since I'm not sure what the problem is in the first place.) This week I'm working nights and will be in Maryland from the 6th through the 9th but basically any other time is fine.

*When:* Thursday, November 5th 8pm-?

*Where:* Taco Cabana in Garland on Broadway and I-30
5959 Broadway Blvd, Garland, TX 75043

*Why:* Raising diapers and wipes for this little girl: CaringBridge / briannamoore / Welcome (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/briannamoore)

*What:* Size 5 Huggies Snug & Dry and/or baby wipes.

For those who don't know, DFW Charity Racing is a registered non-profit organization whose primary goal is to raise money, diapers, wipes, other neccessities, etc for families in the area with special-needs children. We do this primarily through hosting car events such as cruises, weekly meets, drag events, car shows, etc.

Our newest family is in need of diapers pretty badly. Their little girl has a tumor in her brain and is roughly halfway through a 70-week-long chemotherapy treatment regiment.

We're trying to raise enough diapers and wipes to allow Brianna's family to allocate the money they'd normally spend on diapers towards hospital and utility bills. We're not asking for cash donations specifically (although those would be gratiously accepted as well). All donations are tax-deductible!

Hope to see you there!

Hey guys. I've been needing to get myself a WB O2 sensor for a while now. I just came across this: AEM Wideband UEGO SIX-In-One Guage w/Bosh O2 Sensor (http://www.pricematchedparts.com/index.php?p=product&id=23&parent=482). Looks like an awsome deal to me. I don't know how much longer it'll be available at that price - but unless I can find something else that's better / or a better price, I'll probably be getting this pretty soon.

I just wanted to spread the wealth. :bandit:

tuning with emanage blue:interesting info

92sl fwd tt
10:1 block
TT heads
waste gate pressure currently
boost leaks

I havent been home to really play with my car for nearly a year now.
Even before then it had been a while since I have bothered really tuning.

The LAST true time I tried tuning my emanage was 08-2008 when I posted here about my trip to the 1/4 mile.
Im basically about to admit my ignorance on tuning.
That night, and previously, I had been ADDING fuel in varying amounts across most of the map. It wasnt the first time I had worked with a tune. Plus that tune was based upon a few hours of work from earlier on in the week.
In the end I think I nearly zeroed out the map and left it like that when I ran my 13.8 at 99mph at aprox 12psi(slow yes, but none the less the best I had done).

Since then my wife had been driving it as a DD. On average it has gotten 15 mpg, highway or city frankly.
Always smelled rich.
I didnt get a new palm logger until a few months ago to replace my old one which died.
Well last week I had to drive from my work, in atlanta, to high point nc.
Along the way I played with my fuel trims and my laptop while driving.
My fuel trims were all reading 82%
I got the lows to 100% give or take.
But the med and high stayed 82%
So I did more and more digging through 3si to figure out what iI was doing wrong. I had already pulled fuel from parts of the map.
In the medium range around -5 to -8. At one point I had some parts at -10 just looking for a difference.
I did pulls from red lights look at my timing and o2 readings on the logger.
Once reaching High point they still read 82%.
So I did more reading.
Finally got slapped in the face when I read a thread stating 10:1 compression runs PIG rich on stock tt ecu.
So after tooling around with it with in the city and not getting exact results, I reset the ecu. On the trip back to atlanta yesterday I pulled anywhere from -18 to -25 and found my results.
Im working on improving the curve, and still have a ways to go.
As it stands my low trims are 110%
medium at 114 to 120% (plus Im finally seeing knock. my car hasnt seen knock in a long time) so I need to fine tune this section, and check my timing
My high fuel trims were at 95%, but while I was fixing the medium fuel trim, I added to much to the high. This will be fixed when I start doing a few WOT pulls.
My mpg went to 25 from 15.
None of this really matters because Im getting rid of this motor.
But after two years of improperly dicking with this motor its nice to figure something like this out.
Id like to get it right and take it to the track once more before swapping in my 8:1 motor and see what the difference would be.
Its just good practice.
