For the 2 10 kicker I would get the sub enclousure that fit perfectly behind the seats ( The total air space is aprox. 1.1, with no dividers)

But If I get the 12 sub I would get the corner sub box... (.95 cu ft)
Please anwser me fast I don't want the enclousure to be sold ...

I'm open to listen to opinions.. thankkks and excuse my english

Door pods for XXX mids

Whats up. This is my first glassing project. Looking to make some small pods for my XXX mids because my door panels leak (all stealths do). and i dont like my shit getting rained on

Also want to up the power handling by going sealed. We'll see how it goes. Any suggestions just let me know. Trying to make this a learning experience.

I didnt get a pic of me taping up the panels because I had no batteries.

Image: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg45/finketer/100_0556.jpg

passenger side has 3 layers of glass, drivers side has 2. Im giving it another layer then its time for shaping and trimming :)

side note. Since the mounting depth is so deep, i will have to cut a hole in the middle to make room for the magnet. It will be sealed though.
Updates tonight or later this week.

I have looked an searched and stared at my care for 2 long to admit trying to figure out the best way to run the power wire for my amp install. I want to use the hole right behind the battery. BUT idk what/how to go about it after that.

I know it is simple but from start to finish what is the best way to run a power wire from the battery to the factory amp location? Full description would be great pictures would be amazing.(and i dont mean pics of the hole behind the battery :P)

(I know it has been said b4 but my search abilities must be REALLY bad lol)

Differences between 94 and 95 H/U pinouts

I am installing a 98 H/U in my 94 3SL (both units are Infinity), I thought they were plug and play but it seems that the white plug is pinned differently in both units. Does anyone have what the pinouts are for both units? The 98 H/U has the integrated single CD player in it, where my 94 unit, only has the cassette and CD Changer controls. All of the plugs fit, but something does not seem to be right, the 98 unit worked when it was pulled from the other car. Thanks for whatever information you might be able to provide.

94 base 3kgt. So I removed my doors when I repainted my car. When I was taking them off I noticed someone before me had spliced the large blue wire on the harness to the door. It was not connected well so I reconnected it. Now my power locks do not work. So far I've checked the fuse, the doorlock relay, the door switch. Basically when I cut the power(pull the fuse or harness) and then reconnect it the doors lock by themselves. I can hear the relay engage when I push lock of the door switch, but not when I push unlock. I have the circuit diagrams, but I am getting frustrated. Any one have any input?

Thanks

I just bought a new JVC KW-AVX820 and installed in the car last night. Soldered all the wires together and when I turn the car to ACC or ON, the blue power button turns on, but when I push it, the unit itself does not. I'm not sure why it's not turning on. The only thing I don't have hooked up is the emergency brake wire, but I thought that was only needed if I wanted to watch movies while driving, not to turn the whole unit on. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it either, we didn't hook up the "Illumination" wire because there wasn't another wire from the car harness to solder it to. Just wondering if anyone might know why it's not turning on. Thanks!

So, I wanted some bass but didn't want to lose my trunk, spare tire, storage, etc.
My buddy Tony of Soundcraft in Waterford,CT (SoundCraft Car Stereo Entrance (http://soundcraftcarstereo.com)) hooked me up with a JL Audio 13.5" sub, which has a 2.5" mounting depth. He was nice enough to use one of my old V12 amps and my 1F Stinger cap to save me some money. All work was done by Josh, the lead custom fab guy who's been working for Tony for ever and does a first class job. I highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for audio work in their 3S. Check it out and tell me what you think:

Everything fits neatly under the cover:

Sub is firing straight down, and really hits hard:

This is after playing it with the car off for some time. When it's running, it's sitting around 13.8V, and only drops a tenth when the bass hits.

I have 3 wires coming from the centre console under the centre arm-rest and exiting towards the back of the front RHS seat (drivers seat in my case).
2 wires are grey with RCA plugs (1 red, 1 white) and the other is red with a clip.. (power perhaps)

What would these be for ?
I assume it's for something to do with audio ...
(I tried to take a pic, but couldn't zoom in enough to make out any detail)

No FM signal...

Hey guys, I just recently bought a '97 3000GT. They guy that had it before me said that he didn't like how the antenna would go so high, so he would let it go about half-way and then unplug it. When I was testing the car out I know he got FM signal through the receiver. When I purchased it, he removed his radio and put the stock back in and plugged the antenna back in so it would extend/retract. Now I can't seem to get any FM signal and the antenna is stuck extended. I think I just need to replace the plastic strip on the inside, but I'm not sure if this would also cause me to not get any FM signals. Just wondering if you guys might know anything. Thanks a lot!

Need some advice for my stereo system setup

Got a 94 3kgt and I'm in the process of installing a stereo system. So far I have installed a nice Kenwood DDX514 deck, Polk Audio EX369 6x9" (PPH-300W/CPH-100W) & EX365 6.5" (PPH-180W/CPH-60W) speakers in the factory speaker locations.

I've also picked up some Planet Audio RX2104 10 inch dual voice coil subwoofers (PPH-400W/CPH-200W). I'm also planning on buying the big trunk sub box off Ebay for the subs. I have most of the good wiring, etc as well.

I just took out the entire interior and cleaned and laid down some Dynamat Extreme. (Cleanest floor I've ever seen in my car I have to say! Not a single speck of rust anywhere!) Just have to finish up by putting Dynamat in the doors.

I'd like to stick to the affordable Planet Audio line. I know there's a lot better out there but I'm on a budget. So, at this point I'm looking for some Planet Audio AMPS that will fit well with my speakers and subs. I'm planning on mounting them to the back of my rear seat tops so a 17" width is about the max.

1) What Planet Audio amps do you guys recommend?

2) Will I need a capacitor?

Thanks for all your help. Want to order everything this weekend. :)

Hey everyone, I've been having some trouble with my volume control, it seems to do the opposite of what its supposed to but only at first, for example if I attempt to lower the volume it will first go way up and than a few seconds later start going down as I keep turning. the opposite also happens when i attempt to raise the volume.

I've never really done any audio/video work before so I thought I'd see what you guys thought. Could this be a loose wire or a short? Can it be fixed? Thanks in advance.

P.S. if this turned out to be an un-fixable problem and I had to buy a new HU, would one that decodes MP3s allow me to play them through the stock cd changer in the trunk?

Ok main idea is to get ipod input to stock infinity hu.

My JVC Hu i got in my f150 has ipod controls through the cd changer, in the hu it shows up as a cd changer and yet has full control.

My question is would it be possible to use a similar setup to control an ipod through the cd changer port on our hu's?

(yes i know im crazy i just found it interesting and think it would be awesome)
