"You will also NEED two (2) tools from Mitsubishi. I read this in the team3s 60k page and I have no idea what these are or if they are necessary although it says I NEED it. Does anyone have any of these tools or know of replacement tools?

All-Enthusiast Event at UTI Avondale

Hello AZ 3SI friends!

UTI is hosting a NASCAR Pre-Party event on 11/13/09. Yes, Friday the 13th! While it is a NASCAR pre-party, you know I am all about putting together an All-Enthusiast Event- at least you do if you came to the last car show I put together Oct'08. So our show is going to have a great mix of fast cars, lifted trucks, crazy stereos, insane paint jobs, sand rails, and more. Not a car show competition- this is just an exhibition to bring the enthusiast community together and have some fun checking out each others hard work!

The event starts at 11:30am for spectators, but if you want your car to be displayed to help represent the club, be there by 10:30am.

Our address is 10695 W. Pierce St. Avondale, AZ 85323.

Why would you want to come if you aren’t brining your car???
Well, because you can hang out with other awesome car people! But also because we have:
50 tickets to the NASCAR race on Sunday to give away throughout the day!
Evolution Motorsports is bringing out the Gumpert Apollo (Google it!)and a 911 that they set a world record standing mile speed of 231.4MPH in
Mini-AZ – RC car racing on a 20X30ft track. Qualifiers, brackets, and trophies- no cost to enter 1:28 scale cars that Mini-AZ is supplying
Engine Build Competition- see teams of students compete to build a small block 350, then set it in a T-bucket, put it on the dyno.
NAPA- raffle items, employment opportunities, sponsored display car
Bosch- tool demonstration
Pro-Cut- tool demonstration
SpeedWorld- info about up coming events, swag to give away
Firebird- info about up coming events, swag to give away
AZ chapter of the SCCA- several cars to display and info about up coming races at Firebird and PIR- and how to get in for free!
After9Events- displaying some sand rails, mud trucks, quads; info about upcoming events
National Guard is bring out their #88 Dale Jr display car
Wolfsburg- VW club displaying cars, some antiques
WestCoast Racing- display booth, funny car
AirBrush Zone- live air brush demo by Mike Royal- I think he is going to paint a fuel tank for a bike; maybe a hood.
BrakeMasters- employment opportunities; display shop info
Iron Bull Bumpers- 2 lifted Super Duty trucks; product info
Freightliner of AZ- bringing out the new 2009 Cascadia; talk about relationship with UTI and the manufacture training we do for them
Arizona's Fastest Street Cars will have some of their cars out
And of course tours of our campus and manufacture programs for those interested in learning more.

And if any of you were at our Monster Jam pre-party you probably remember Motor Mouth Mike. He will be returning to MC this event; backed up by DJ Tony G from Desert Sounds (who does the Copper State Classic show every year).

Hope to see all of you out at UTI Avondale on 11/13/09!!!

It runs!

I finally got my car to start and run after being down for close to 2 years! It really didn't take much...just didn't have the time/money.

http://www.3si.org/forum/f1/cars-been-sitting-year-half-476358/

SHORT VERSION

Changed/New:
Spark plugs. (They were "OK" But were about due for a change)

Spark plug wires. (Were rotting/chewed on...that's the AZ sun and rabbits for you though)

Battery. (Dead, dead, and did I mention way past DEAD)

Oil and filter. (Actually not bad at all, but that's probably because I changed it not to long before it was parked)

FIPK air filter. (The EBAY filter/CAI couplers were dry rotted, so I went back to the stock piece with the K&N.

Emptied the gas tank and put in a gallon of new gas with some Seafoam. (used about a forth of the can with 1 gallon of 91, the old gas looked yellow-orange)

Rewired the MAF. (Again, the rabbits out where I used to live got to it)

Yet to change:
Fuel filters. (Honestly just forgot)

Coolant. (Have a bottle in the garage, just didn't have time before work)

Belts. (Ordered some, waiting for them to get here and then I'll order the rest)

O2s. (Changed 1 before it was parked and have 1 more to do, damn engine code)

Reverse. (It pops out and then grinds unless I hold it in place. Could that have to do with the linkage or?)

Well anyway the car runs and drives...in my driveway at least. Has a lot of lifter tick but it started to quiet down a bit...still pretty loud though. I'm thinking of using some of the Seafoam in the oil unless told otherwise? But either way, how long should I wait until I change the oil again?

Once all this is done it's on to the body and interior...ugh.
