I do not know anyone in the area that is a wrencher. I need a new clutch for my TT. I am wondering if anybody in the Charlotte area might want to help out. Ideally someone who has done several clutch's, has tools, a great place to work on a car, and we could wrap it up in a day.
I only have the apartment parking lot to work from and about half the tools needed. Hell I will even do all the work you can just sit back and pass along your experience. If anybody can help out let me know.

It was brought up by a member do I decided to do it. Found a cool site that uses gogle maps for the map.

Map of Carolina 3S members (http://zeemaps.com/Carolina3S)

Just click on 'Additions' then 'Add Marker'

A window pops up and you can add kinds of info. For safety of yourself and your home, I would just click on the map in a genral area not your exact address. Just move the pop-up window out of the way and click on the map. The long and lat will show up in the window and you can preview the marker. After you click submit a new window pops up with a link for making future edits to your location. I just laved the link to favorites by right clicking on it. So if you move you can change the location later.

Have fun and fill up the map.

Added a feature for out of the group people(inspired by jackhammer). Click on 'Map' then 'Legend' to see which color marker to use. It will help make things look nicer and remember I can always go and change it if you dont follow the rules, HAHHAHAH. If your region doesnt have an assigned color then just pick a random one and I'll update the legend later.

Hey all. I have a 93 VR4 for sale that needs work. I,m too old and tired to get it back on the road, so if anybody wants a project car, they can have it for 2G. Transmission is bad, I think it is the forks, so it would have to be taken by flatbed. Motor is good, body is good and interior fair. Black with white interior. No exhaust, just has to be installed. Solid motor mounts, AFC 2, PST carbon fiber driveshaft, datlogger, front and rear strut bars and other things. Just pm me if your interested.:(

Hey everyone, last year we hosted a cruise in Drive for Diabetes,
And the turn out and generosity of Spartanburg & Greenville people
was amazing despite it being freezing cold!!

Well... We decided to host another winter cruise-in,
this year we teamed up with the US Marine Corps to host Toys for Tots
event. Help collect toys for less fortunate children for Christmas.

If you’re already out at Westgate Cruising, this will give you a place
To park and chill, and not get ran off by police/security.

All Makes and Models Welcome! Bikes Too!

All we ask for in return is you bring a new toy with you.
It can be A $3.00 Lego or My Lil Pony if that’s all you can afford.
Anything is better than nothing to an unprivileged child on xmas day.
Open your heart, and come out and help us make this another
great event!!

Sears Auto Center, Westgate Mall Spartanburg SC
November 21st 6.00pm till 10-11pm

We hope to see you all there!!

Local VR4 for sale

Hey all,

I'm selling my project vr4. As of now all it needs to be in good mechanical shape is new motor mounts, front brake discs (had the old ones resurfaced but they are on their last leg), PCV valve, and a new steering rack. 3rd gear also grinds. The paint job is 4/10 for peeling clear coat, and I would put the interior at 6/10. No oil leaks. Active exhaust, cruise control, active aero (rear only, no front dam installed), and ecs all work.

1992 3000GT VR4
15x,xxx miles

Asking price: $3500. It has alot of new & neat stuff.

- New rebuilt short block
- New tranny internals including VCU, 2nd gear synchro, output shaft, input spool.
- New carrier bearings
- New oil cooler
- Factory new ECU
- 13C turbos, currently running at 8 psi
- Innovate DB wideband system
- 25 spline output shaft

Hey guys, just trying to get the word out about my new SC car forum. At the moment I'm wanting to build a member base and get some content on the board. The regional subforums are geared more towards the Upstate, but any SC car guy (or girl) is welcome to join, and if we get enough members from other parts of the state, I'd be happy to add a subforum for them. In any case, register and let me know what you think.

ok, so apperently im cheap and ghetto, but it got the job done.

poly motor mount that cost me just $3.99

ive only done the front so far, i havent got around to the others because just doing the from made soooooooooo much/all the difference. my flex pipe doesnt raddle anymore, my motor doesnt move at all eathier. little vibration, but you have to look for it. i plan on doing the back and sides soon, but like i said its not to important to me since just the 1 made all the difference.

Edit:

for anyone interested, you can pick up a tube of poly from home depo, just cut the rubber out,and fill the motor mount, then bake in the over for about 45min at 275. comes out like a rock.

:

Here's the final pick of the sound system components:

*_QUESTION_* IF I INSTALL THE AMPS ON THE FRONT TOP OF THE SUB BOX (RECESSED NEAR THE REAR SEATS) AND THE *_BLUE_* lights are lit will this be illegal in this state (NC)???

Wondering so the cops don't hassle me. I figure they may not see them directly in my car but they would probably reflect off the rear deck lid glass.

Any thoughts here on this subject?

TIA

So I re-wired my entire amp/sub/speaker setup last night, what an adventure that was lol. I added a new amp for my sub, and switched the amp that was running my sub to run my front speakers. The new sub amp is the Polk/Momo C500.1 Carbon Series Mono Block, and ho-ly-sh-it did it make a difference! My bass hits so damn loud now that my head actually hurt from tuning it (with the doors open and windows down nonetheless). Thankfully, it came with a remote adjustment knob, so I can back it down and turn it up as I please. So now, I have the Boss Special Edition 2Ch running my fronts, the Polk/Momo running my Kicker CVR12, Pioneer 3 ways in the doors and rears, and a Volfenhag 2 Farad Cap helping push the amps. I ran all new ground points, re-ran my RCA's for zero chance of interference/noise, and removed the psgr seat and finally ran every single wire under the carpet and under the rear seats. What a damn difference a cleanup/reorganization job made...I wonder what I'll hit at the SPL comps now? hehe :D

NEVER try to save money to get tires!!!

This is a word of advice... NEVER try to save money while getting tires, especially to have them put them on as well... Lets just say my front left tire decided to divorce my car while I was going about 40 MPH. Tire shot like a dang rocket (luckily not hitting anyone) and I pulled off the road, riding on my rotor, and I ended up having to crawl out of my window, because my door wouldn't open because my fender was smashed in. There was NO vibrations before-hand, just driving down the road, next thing I know I am able to fully see my tire, then the car dropped.

Was able to get the tire back on the car, found 4/5 lugnuts, and the last lugnut was taken off another tire (by the way... we were able to take the lugnut off the other tire by HAND... it was "snug")

Called the tire place (some no-name place on Franklin BLVD in Gastonia) and they tried to blame me for "being an unexperienced driver", basically playing games with me. Called again this afternoon and we told them the damage of my car, and we were told to bring the car in tomorrow to have them look at it. Ive already made my mind up - They are going to buy me a new fender, new rotor, repaint my ground kit (black tire mark), and they WILL repaint my caliper yellow again. LOL If they refuse, they will have a court date to attend to.

Pictures are soon to come, just wanted to share my story.

Well.... This morning I woke up to a quite "pleasant" surprise... My window seal would trickle when it would rain really hard, but I never saw it as an issue... This morning I woke up, headed off to class, and I heard a "sloshing" sound in my back seat behind the driver seat... So I pulled over in a parking lot, and sure enough I had about 1 1/2 inches of water sitting in the floorboard. To make matters worse, my alternator was sitting in the water, and some other items. I took out the alternator quickly, and ran to mcdonalds, got a good chunk of napkins and slapped em in there. They didnt help much, but I will dry it out when I get home..

I did some research to buy an upper window seal, and to my surprise, they were about 90 bucks at 3sx which really kinda seems crazy... Does anyone have a spare one or one they dont use? Also should I be worried about my alternator?:mad::mad::mad:

Let pass on 3rd and 1 against the 32 ranked run def when we have 2 running backs that avg. over 5 yards a carry. When is Delomme going to be cut, he has more interceptions than touchdowns this year...

Sorry but I had to vent, this was too much to bear.

There's going to be a bunch of guys going to Frankie's Fun Park (http://www.frankiesfunpark.com/) in Charleston, SC.

I was wondering if any of y'all were down to come along, we're mainly going there for their short track go-karts, (don't expect much, it's a very small oval where we just go sideways the entire time!) and it's going to be a good time.

*Tomorrow, 24OCT09, at 7 PM!*

Anyone down? Would love to see some 3/S's there!
