I then start the car and it idles for about 2 minutes and shuts down completely. I attempt to start it but I have no power to anything but the courtesy lights in the floor and doors.I get nothing when turning the key no dummy lights, climate control doesn't turn on, nothing.Where should I start checking?

Alright guys/gals. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. This is the issue

I installed a wild wood BBK (14inch) I bled the system and everything was good. The car sat for a week and when I got in to drive it the brakes would feel like they where binding.

I thought it was my mastercylinder so i replaced it with a reman.. turns out the reman was bad so I re installed my old one and the brakes felt good.

Go to drive the car and it's fine until the system warms up. Once it's warm the brakes starts to bind. I called WW and they said its something in my brake system. The thing is that when I had my second gen brakes on, I had no issues. The only thing that has changed is this BBK.

So what do you guys think? I was told that the pistons are getting stuck, but damn would both pistons get stuck on both calipers?

It's a new kit. I'm debating on sending the whole kit back and installing a second Gen kit.

Need help fast, car is just sitting and it's time to drive!!!!!!!!

Most of the the rotors I have found are ABS, but I am not sure if they are compatible with non-abs. Raybestos, Wagner and AC Delco have only ABS, but from posts on this site it looks like some board members are running these on non-abs cars. Hard to tell without part numbers or if the non-abs have been discontinued. Does anyone know about the rotor fitment?

Yeah I am just curious. I've been intrigued lately with 9B turbos lately and with our new discoveries of ECU flashing etc...

I have 9B turbos on my car and one has 95k+ and other has 179k! light puff smoke here and there but every 4k mile oil changes it loses barely any oil.

Has anyone done enough research to give any idea what HP/TQ a nearly basically stock slightly modded 3/S TT can do? (not planning to max out my ancient turbos just curious how far we got on small stock turbos)

The best I've seen so far is someone on here with super light mods is the guy i can't remember his name on forums. He was running 11.8-12.2s i think in quarter mile.
in his 97-98 VR4 TT with just Chromed ECU etc little stuff and full interior.

i know there is another guy running 10s but heavy weight reduction 9b modded car.

Has anyone ran different tests like.

Aftermarket exhaust/headers or none /no cat/new fuel pump/hot wire/injector swap/chromed ECU/Remap/SAFC2 or w/e pump 93 fuel.
(and seen what quarter mile they run or dyno results)

and or same exact mods but added pump e85 fuel mod to see what results as well.

I already seen rays post of getting 311 AWHP and 340TQ+ but it was stock exhaust and unmodified ECU.

Just very interested cause seems we can make our cars little super cars with basically just mainly+ doing just maintenance and light mods. its amazing...

Thanks Guys, in for any results or research.

It has 140k with fresh Redline flush and only makes a slight noise when I shift at high rpm into 3rd. I know they give up the ghost sooner rather than later, so i would start planning to swap the trans next summer.

I found one person that said theirs lasted15-20k but i dont know if it was ever tracked. I only live 1.7 miles from work so i barely put any miles on it. Even if lasted me a year or two until i could convert an awd transmission then id be happy

I took it into autozone and they ran a code that said cly 2 is misfireing/no compression (cant remember). I do not know how this could happen. The engine got rebuild a few months ago.

Things it could be. I have new headers so there is a chance it could have a leak, it was raining and the guy thought i might of fried the coil pack, or bad fuel injector? No other cylinders threw up codes, only number 2.

Thoughts on the problem?

The Problem

Battery was replaced with one that was too tall. I have never had the battery tie down in my car and never had a problem. However, because this battery was taller, under a hard brake it slid forward and grounded out on the hood.
It then preceded to melt the battery ground along with the ground wires that run to the ecu.

Done so far.

All the wires that melted were replaced and run through two new ground wires that i ran to a metal ground. The car stars and seems to run just fine. But, at idle it emits a kind of pulsing sound though the tach stays perfect. You can almost kind of feel and hear the pulse like it would be a miss, but the tach stays steady. Also after a hard rev, the idle drops (almost dies), and takes a moment to stabilize.

Questions

Though i was going to just replace the harness, (bought one but sale fell through after waiting two months for the part), im going to try and fix it. Was it ok combining all of the grounds into one? would that cause the weird pulse without a miss showing on the tach? Also the wipers are always on now unless the motors unplugged, sign of a wire that needs replaced?

This past weekend I dropped the 5 speed transmission out of my 95 3000gt base to replace the clutch. The clutch replacement and reinstallation of the transmission went fine. Everything went back together and we had only a few steps left before I'd be able to test out my new clutch (exedy stage 1 organic racing clutch). We went to bleed the hydraulic system and after a few pumps the clutch pedal simply went to the floor and did not come back up. This same issue happened to me back in november and I replaced the slave cylinder and problem solved, but that was last time. Today I replaced the slave cylinder thinking it may have been damaged. The pedal had no change after bleeding the new slave cylinder. I rented a fluid vacuum hand pump from advanced auto and tried bleeding that way, thinking there was air in the system causing no pressure at the pedal. No change. Any ideas? I have run out.

I followed these instructions while replacing the clutch: Stealth 316 - Transaxle and Clutch

I also replaced the slave cylinder line with one of the 3sx ones.

Thanks

My 96 3000gt just started shutting off, out of the blue. It starts but it's fluffy, then after about 20sec it just shuts off. The first few times the check engine light came on but now doesn't. Tried to scan it but there is no hard code or check engine to throw a code. Next step cleaned the IAC then started it up, same thing fluffy then shuts off, but the check engine light came on briefly. As soon as the check engine light turned off the cars idling regulated , then it shut off. So the process was slightly different. I don't know if anyone has or does have this happening, but The advice would be great. I don't know what to do next.
What do I try next, I need this car running asap.

Hi guys!

I have some questions regarding my project of going for an all AN connected power steering.

I think I'm going to use mainly AN6 connections as this is what's least demanding in space, but still has some size. Any thoughts around the size of AN6?

The next thing is connect the AN tubes to the OEM pump. Does a flange with an AN6 that fits the inlet of the PS pump exist? (eg 3SX's turbo oil outlet flange with an AN10...) And also, does a universal banjo to AN connection fit the oulet of the PS pump? If that's case; what size is banjo?

I also need some connections at the steering rack. What fits here?

Hopes somebody has done something similar knows some answers to my questions ;-)

I was told the lifters when you first started the car up make sounds cause they don't have As much oil flow as the 99s. I checked my oil, she was two quarts low. When I woke up I went around and found that she was leaking from the oil pan, some half fast put a bolt into the bottom of the oil pan, welded and everything, for god knows what, but it seemed I scraped it to cause the weld to leak. Anyway aside from that problem, I've been having to put oil in cause I haven't been able to get an oil pan for her and the ticking is getting louder. It's comin from the passengers side. I'm not sure if the lifters went under a dry spell from starving the two quarts missing.

Any input or anyone who has had this problem could give me suggestions or ideas as to what it could be, that would be awesome! Thanks

So long story short I have a 96 3000gt sl, which has had no problem since I purchased it. Went into Wawa last night, came back out turned the car on and it starts. The check engine light is on and its idling fluffy, up down up down about to shut off. I gave it some gas and it sounds like the timing is off or something. After about 30sec the car shuts off every time, but always starts rite back up. Its got higher mileage on it at about 140k and considering there was nothing mechanically that has happened I was thinking a sensor. If anyone has any suggestions or has run into this problem themselves please lmk. I need to fix this today, I cant even drive it without it shutting off.:(

also: the 96 is obd2 rite?

Im sure it has been asked and answered somewhere, I however cant find it. I have a 93 Stealth TT that the engine is no good (seized, and rusted out beyond all recondition due to blown head gasket and oil/water mix then sitting for 3yrs). My question is, if I were to go to the junkyard and pull a regular 3.0 DOHC out of a 3000gt or a diamante, and dress it up with turbos etc from the engine I have, will everything work good. I know I will have a 10:1 compression and not the 8:1. But rebuilding this engine is not a feasible option.

I know you guys make FWD TT, so I know the engine can take the turbos and such, but thats in a N/A car. I assume it would be easier to put the engine in the TT body and AWD set up... but I turn to you for your expert advice on this as I have never messed with turbo cars before.

Lastly as an add-on, I just noticed my TT has no ECU... i guess they pulled it before selling it to me, the N/A ecu from whatever donor car i find wont work will it?.... Thanks all you badass peeps of badassitude.

Recently, I’ve noticed that 5th gear is difficult to pull out of. And when it does come out, I question if it’s in neutral because moving the shift knob side to side is rough. I don't have this issue if I'm moving around gears 1-4/neutral.

What could this mean? In contrast, all other gears 1-4 are smooth but reverse and 5th are hard to push in or pull out.

BTW, is it normal when I shift gears to feel a slight thump feedback? Compared to my Acura Integra (much more forgiving), 3000gt’s shift distances are further and makes a thump.
