Hire ray for his 4.0 billet long block

Hire ray for his transfer case

Hire matt for his dr750 turbos

Using lancer evolution suspension, technology, transmission to compete against GTR.

Newer face lift, color choice.

Price start out at 55k.

Approx power is 650 hp crank rating at 6500 rpm, and 400 torque at 3500 due to dr750 unique design.

This will be selling more than any other car on the market.

Period.

Opinions could vary.

You honestly believe a Mitsubishi would outsell a Mustang or Camaro? And you think with all that you are asking, it would only start at $55K? Hate to say it, but there is a reason why they stopped selling the 3000GT.

Aren't there enough threads dreaming about this idea already? Just do what you are saying and have one built for you and enjoy it.

I love these cars, I'm building one, I totally condone it. This is going to be another thread full of people arguing over stupid stuff that is a fantasy to begin with.

I dont get this. Not to disparage matt or ray's accomplishings, but embracing old tech innovations as opposed to the cutting edge shit of the GTR you wish the car would compete against doesnt make sense.

It all about the money. The engineers could design something badass, but the bean counters and marketing stats will back up the fact that it wouldnt sell.

Besides, mitsu's already canned their idea of performance and are moving towards shit like this

and away from evos.

It would be a bit much for someone to decide to buy a Mitsubishi performance car for 55K when no one was buying lancers the last couple years for 35-40K. It would be fun though to have all the new electronics tech, good diffs, and a fast spooling turbo in a nice car that wasnt shaped like a box. (GTR and Evo alike)

Direct injection and VCR....what a torque monster that would be.

3000gts are dead. Mitsubishi is going under. Let our cars go down in history. Nissan and Honda have the means and backing to keep their linage going. Just buy one of those. If they did ever remake a 3000gt, most of us would not be able to afford one. These cars were expensive from the get go. Buy something with a proven track record and call it a day.

Lets start at the top...

4.0 engine, cant disagree there.

Transfer case is Dave Broomfields, and would never be used since a proper fix is a better transaxle/transfer case combo. Need to move the trans to the rear to balance the car.

DR750s on a 4L? lol

the lancer is good for what it is, but much like the VR4 it is hamstrung by its 4dr mommy car roots. Start from the ground up.

If you havnt noticed, everything Mitsu builds right now, is ugly. They would fuck up this like everything else they have.

It will cost a shit load more than 55k.

A 4L on 750's might as well be a diesel.

A 4L would be nice with twin GTX3076's

Looks like Mitsubishi is playing with bringing back the Ferrari Fighter, or at least their concept
designers are. Not wanting to be out done by a rebranding of their own '93 - '99 GTO built by
Russian coach builder E-Go, Mitsubishi concept designers have been quietly at work on their first
exciting concept since the Mitsubishi Concept-RA debuted in 2008.

While the concept GTO is drawing cues from the Concept-RA the obvious design is looking again
at Ferrari. As for what is under the hood, what little we know seems to be taking aim at the
Nissan GTR and going for a head shot.

The next GTO is boasting a twin turbo charged version of the 4th generation Eclipse 3.8 L 24-valve
DOHC 6G75 with MIVEC, Mitsubishi's variable valve timing technology. Built on an extended wheel base
version of the Mitsubishi Evo X. The concept GTO is paired with such features as Mitsubishi's Super
All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), for improved traction, cornering, and vehicle stability, and the automaker's
twin-clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission), a 6-speed manual will also be available.

Power is expected to be around 560 bhp with 480 ft lb of torque just edging out the GTR. So the only
real question, when can I buy one?

Sadly it is not a when, it probably isn’t even an if. Beginning with Mitsubishi pulling out of the WRC in
2009, then reducing Ralliart, the company’s motorsports-development arm, down to almost nothing in
2010, then killing off the Eclipse (granted not a huge loss since the 2nd generation) and now the Evo is
on the chopping block despite continued demand. Mitsubishi has made it clear that they are shifting
its focus away from cars with good dynamics, cheap prices and fervent motorsports-bred street cred
toward an electric vehicle future.

The company's plans are as aggressive as its talk. Mitsubishi has said it will launch six new electric or
plug-in hybrid vehicles and enough conventional hybrids to put Berkeley, California into a figure-four
leglock by 2015. How's that for aggressive?

So that is it? The GTO legacy died in 1999? It looks that way.

Ultimately, the concept is an impressive retelling of the story of a platform that survived the
onslaught of the SUV in the late 90's longer than its rival Supras, RX7s and 300ZXs. But that is not enough,
this could be the car that pulls Mitsubishi back into the spot light and would help to save the Evo. Or it
could be the car that never gets further than this concept rendering.[/i][/b]
