What exactly are you referring to when you say side scoop? Are you referring to the fins behind the doors, if that's the case then that's called the sideskirt and it's a fairly easily removable part that can be directly swapped between generations.

this thread for a little more information. They did half to do a little cutting, but that's for swapping a stealth to 3000gt which I don't think you'd half to do just going between to different 3000gt generations.
