Maybe a prototype prior to arranging a group buy with a deposit required isn't the norm? I'm not real familiar with the procedure, but I could be way off here....

The lip will end up looking pretty much exactly like the picture with the option of using splitter rods or not. You also get to choose whether you would like to purchase it in our DuraFlex fiberglass and then you can paint it or Carbon Creations carbon fiber and it would look identical to the one in the picture of course again with the option to use splitter rods or not. A prototype will not be ready before July 18th when the group buy ends. I will do my best to make sure that the lip ends up looking the way that everybody envisions it, like in the picture.

Shipping actually isn't that expensive for a box that size. Since the lip will be a new item, it will have to be shipped by us. Here are a few ideas that I gave another forum member asking about the high shipping costs:
The shipping is only so expensive because the lip is going to be pretty lenghty so the box that the lip is shipped in will be slightly larger, meaning even bigger than the lip. If you don't want to pay that much for shipping, get together with some of your local forum members that will be purchasing the lip as well, and get the lips all sent to one place and save on shipping. We understand that shipping is expensive, however gas prices and other determing factors make shipping prices go up. Unfortunately as much as we like to accomodate you, the customer, we need to be covered on our end as well in order to keep the business running.
But at least in the end, everyone that jumps on this group buy will get a pretty sweet deal on the lip that you guys chose to have made instead of us making a lip that you may not have liked and saying "here buy this now". Or even worse, not making a lip at all. Just let me know if anyone has any other questions and I hope that this group buy ends up being a huge success!
P.S. just so that everyone knows, we still need a 1st Gen 3000GT to prototype the lip on their car and we also need a minimum of 10 people to sign up for the group buy in order to honor the group buy pricing.
