Well after about 6 months of waiting and saving... a couple of days ago I drove 400 miles up to Rockford, IL to get this:
1994 base, 126,000 miles with new timing belt, brakes, rotors, and clutch done by the previous owner.
The paint is pretty oxidized and the spoiler needs a new coat of paint, but it runs great and not bad for $4000.
I have some questions though:
1.
A/C electronics - pressing the A/c snowflake button lights it up, but it doesn't engage the compressor clutch. I played with the clutch relay under the hood and got the compressor to start going. No problems there. But it still wasn't blowing any colder than outside temp. Ideas?
2.
Gauge lights/dash lights - all the dash lights controlled by the dimmer don't work. This includes the gauge cluster, HVAC knob lights, etc. Turn signals, etc work fine. Is it common for the dimmer to go bad?
3.
Cruise control - The radio was stolen a while ago and the thief cut a bunch of wires around the stereo. He cut the wires going to the cruise control on/off switch. I figure three wires go to it, but any idea which is which?
4.
Door locks - My key looks like it was recently cut by a Mitsu dealership. It works in the ignition and rear hatch, but not in the doors.
Thanks.
Sure beats an Accord any day of the week
