Please make sure that the unit is on. Since it is a gauge it always lights up and displays a reading but you have to tell the unit what mode you want it to run in, A or B. You can adjust the boost settings for both modes all you want with the unit off and you will not see any change in output. The default boost mode for the controller is "off", so you want to make sure you have it set to either A or B.
