Yes, that sounds like an oil jet fell apart and lowered your oil pressure. The 6 oil jets (one per piston) are under the main bearings (block side) and squirt oil at the bottom of the pistons to cool them.
I don't know how you can check them without pulling the crankshaft.

I hope this isn't your problem but maybe someone near you has an old oil jet so you can see if the parts match. New ones are only $9.00 each from a Mitsusbishi dealer. Only problem is the crank must be out to change them.
