That is cool you did it with the tranny still in the car. So far I have about 450 miles on my welded dowel pins. The large clunk is defiantley gone, Although I did swtich from a stage 3 clutch to a factory clutch during the process, so idk if the less aggressive clutch also helped absorb some of the shock. idk. But i do still have a mystery clunk that is intermitant(can't spell). Only if I accelerate quickyl or change gears quickly it clunks in the rear. But it makes the same clunk when I go over a bump so im thinking it suspension/bushing related. Its a 91 with original suspension components. But I'm glad I got the initial huge thud gone, it was like a earth quake. When I ever I hit the gas it wou thud, now I can slap the gas pedal without makign it thud like it used to. Now just have to hunt down my body rattles and cluncks lol. Thanx for everyone reading and adding to this thread.
