Now check this out... They call for a ported box of .6 cubic feet. That's a box roughly 11"x11"x12". The port is a 2.5" tube that is 8 13/16" long for a tuned box of 40Hz. Small box for our cars!

Before you go and diss the 8" sub, has anyone heard the Logitech Z-2300? (about the same size)
The Logitech subs use TangBand drivers. More specifically the the W8-670Q. For 8" subs you can't beat the value of the TB's.

Most car audio subwoofers are overpriced. If you know what to look for in quality drivers you can find some real gems for a lot less in other places. Also check out the Dayton DVC series.

This placed in the corner of the trunk, 2 cu ft tuned to 32Hz with at least 250 watts of clean power will easily handle it's own against most 10's.

I've compared it to the Kenwood Excelon DB 10+ and Kicker S10L54 and the 8 was easily my favorite.
