Default Re: My trip, the gear I've outfitted

Didn't get internet anywhere yesterday, slept behind a Nebraska rest area last night.

Right on, things happening. I use my laptop running off the bike if needed.

Wyoming is nice in mountainous areas, and everythings turning green right now!

The important thing is, well into Nebraska I finally installed those handlebars.

Holy crap they work so awesome! Def staying on for the rest of trip.

want to read into that, I wrote this last night:
"A little frustrated/tired from being so sore and stopping too often, I put the bars on then drove through a couple tanks of gas! Awesome, they work great and help so much! #1 I cut ‘center’ bar out of middle of bars, allows for full range of movement at any time not hitting my helmet, and you can’t even see or tell extra bars are there if not using! Sitting all the way up (on stock controls) they don't hit my arms, and all the way down with bar at my neck my face is in gauges and wind going over my helmet! #2 Throttle-stick works great, can keep me right at 83mph in 6th gear and engine RPMs are still low not in ‘powerband’ so better on gas. #3 I’m sitting up in the wind, breaking the wind before it hits my high bundle of stuff that my back is resting against. The thing here, I’m able to FEEL winds gusting back and forth different ways almost before they blow the bike, anyway my torso gets blown around while I can actually keep the bike straighter this way instead of being blown back and forth so much."

I've been BATTLING this bike for the drive, that continues but little easier. With a little pressure on the bars, I can steer swerve and maneuver around anything that I could normally when cruising at speed. Any pothole is not a problem.

Iowa rest areas are nice, and first civilized with wi-fi access, but thats sucky and didn't work in the 2 I tried today.

beard was itching my face rubbing my cheeks in helmet for long time. I shaved off at rest stop.

I'm near Des Moines Iowa currently
