I could have sworn that I made a AWD ATX TT thread or post on here. Hmmmm...Ah...bingo:

However, if you do this on a N/A your car is going to be slow as balls without doing a TT conversion as well. Our N/A's go 16's or so in auto FWD form. You are looking at 17-19 seconds after this conversion.
Here is a list of the things you will need (using a FWD ATX car):
- Trans - ($300-$400)
- 6spd TT rear end ( a 5spd rear end will not work) ($250-$400)
- Rear Subframe Mounts off of a Donor TT car (or fab your own) ($?)
- Drive Shaft (must be modified to accept both the awd trans @ the front and 6spd rear end in the back) ($?)
- Shift Kit ($85 from IPT)
- Tranny Cooler ($60-$175)
- Dedicated fan for tranny cooler ($?)
Here is a list of the things you will need (using an AWD/TT):
- Trans $300-$400
- TCU *Very Important!!!* THE TCU MUST MATCH THE ECU'S YEAR/OBD TYPE ($175)
- 6spd TT rear end ( a 5spd rear end will not work) ($250-$400)
- Drive Shaft must be modified to accept both the awd trans @ the front and 6spd rear end in the back (if you are using a 1st gen TT) ($)
- Shift Kit ($85 from IPT)
- Shifter Assembly ($?)
- Tranny Cooler ($60-$175)
- Dedicated fan for tranny cooler ($?)
You could sub the TCU for a Manumatic from IPT, but that is of course your choice. The prices with question marks are prices that vary from seller to seller. I paid $250 for my 6spd rear end, but I've seen them go for $500. You are realistically looking at $2,500 (w/ labor) for this conversion on a N/A and a little less (but not much). Yes I know 3sx converted the T4 into awd atx for a bit, but they also used their own version of a manumatic. Manumatic = no TCU worries/wiring.
