Nice man! Glad to see someone else making forward progress. Anytime a car has sat that long you should get rid of that fuel and clean the tank. Change the oil and inspect all your seals and gaskets. A coolant flush and new air filter won't hurt either. Just changing the oil and fuel may reduce or eliminate the smoking and ticks. Just pointing at the easy stuff first...you might try a fuel system additive to clean it up but the better idea after 3 years of sitting would be to remove the tank and clean it out.
