I have a 92, and a 94, and have raced both (with bpu upgrades) and found that the difference between 5/6spd for dragging is all about what power your putting out. For instance with my 94, i found i had to shift into 4th close to the finish line at around 100+ mph, but with my 92 5spd i could power threw 3rd and hit the "red-line" at finish line around 110 MPH
But as said above definitely get rid of the 18 spline i went threw a few of those just with minor mods

I'm now into more of the "modded" category, and both my cars are about equal in HP. so im looking forward to seeing what the difference will be between the 5/6 speed now i fear i will have to get out of third just shy of the finish line with my 5 speed
