[3Sfever]

Attached is photo of my #3 synchro. (#2 is similar) My tranny will grind when shifted into 3rd gear under high RPM, so thought I would pull the tranny apart to see if I could fix it.

I see two possible problems with the 3rd gear syncro shown in Synchro3.jpg.

1) from the color, it appears to be brass, which I thought meant it is a cheap, non-OEM replacement.
2) there is no gap between the ring and the gear, which seems to imply that it is worn out. I have seen other pictures of new one, and appears to have a gap.

According to previous owner, he had the tranny rebuilt, but I had problems with 3rd, right after I bought it.

How do this look? Time for replacement?
