Chances are your switch is worn out at the contact points. You may be able to get it to work properly by pulling it apart and cleaning it with electronic parts cleaner, but chances are you'll need to find a working switch. As for the looseness in the window, you should be able to tighten up one of the 'feeler' guides (they press against either the front or rear of the window) to tighten it more on the tracks.
