Though I realize you posted this quite a while ago, I'd suggest getting a DA (dual action) sander as well as an in-line sander. The DA is very useful for getting filler roughed in prior to using a hand sanding board. The in-line sander is great for larger body panels and what not. Another good thing to note is to use a criss-cross pattern when using the sanding board (just in case you didn't know that). Good luck man.
