I know the feeling, trust me.... I would have done the same thing if I were you.

That's cool you found the problem. I only had about 2 or three bent forks on the shift shaft side. One was so bad I had to ask myself how in the world some one could do some thing like that. It was just about at a 45 degree angle! Granted, it's not REALLY stong steel, but it is not flimsy either. I think the guy just got frustrated with the tranny because he didn't realize he was using a poor fluid choice and just took it out on the shifter when it didn't want to go into gear. Those slightly bent/warped parts can be a pain to pin piont some times. Good work.
