My son and I have been toying with the idea of removing our beat up underhood mat. It is scratch resistant, fire retardant, extremely light, and comes with a roll of 3m adhesive tape for attachment. Has anyone here worked with this stuff before? The color is in the mix, so it is all the way through, but will it handle a slight bend without distortion? Any helpful tips are appreciated.

As long as it can handle the heat without warping, I'd say go for it.
