its the throw out bearing (TOB)
most 3s cars encounter this problem eventually. Its no big deal (other then being really annoying. Just continue driving the car, and when it comes time to rebuild the tranny, fix it then.

its one of those problems, where the part costs like $15 or something, but to repalce it, it involves pulling the transmission.
