I'm glad to see some SOHC love.

Post up some pics in this thread.

I can't wait to see how this all develops.

haha ill post some of mine up when i get there. right now all i ahve are pics of the turbo ihave and the boost gauge i got. but how could we not love the sohcs? matt had his at 246k, no oil change since 05, ran it dry on oil and coolant, and its still runnin. the highest mileage 3/s is a sohc. plus i just personally love mine because its my 3/s and i want to see what its got lol. id love to get about 260whp out of it and shock a vr4 owner from a roll lol.

This is exactly what the SOHC 3000/Stealth platform needs to get going... I know everyone dogs them and says "just TT it or buy a VR4" but it has turned into that redundancy that everyone hates. It is like the 99 conversions... everyone has done them. I am glad that someone is taking the initial leap of faith and trying to pave the road for us fellow SOHCers. If enough people show interest, maybe we could get a sponser to take notice and build a custom kit. I know I would pay up to $1500 to $2000 for a single turbo kit.
i know right? hell it would do 3SX and all the other vendors some good just to produce the manifolds for a turbo set-up and sell them for like 300$ a peice. id rather pay 3-500$ for a set of premade manifolds, then pay about 50 or so and do alot welding, fabricating and cussing lol.

I think I would be interested too, but probably not until a couple years in the future.

One question though: I love how the SOHC 6G72 seems to run forever, will a single turbo hurt that reliability to any significant degree? I don't really know enough to say if this is a stupid question or not, but I am curious.

Please note; this would be for those of us who wouldn't go boost-crazy, just enough to beef up power a good bit, nothing crazy. (I know that if you throw too much boost at (into) an engine, it will go pretty quickly.)
yeah. the sohc only runs a 8.9:1 compression, which is a fairly boostable compression. the thing that slows the sohc down as far as boost is that they have no knock sensors so you cant monitior the knock when you are tuning. personally i think that with upgraded fuel, 6psi, and a good tune you should be able to spank most mustang gt owners, and z28s(lt1s). as long as you take care of the car it will be ok
