Default New problem with 3kgt...

My brother has owned this 93 3000gt 5 speed. He's driven the car for the past 5 years without much problems. I trash the ECU in my cavalier and it was ripped form the harness. I spend $100 in gas to drive to my brother's place and pick up the car. 4 days later, on my way home from school, the car starts jerking with a check engine light going on and off simultaneously and consistently every 20 seconds. I pull off to the side of the road and decide to turn the car off and restart it. It starts back up and died 20 feet later with a no start. I called my dad and he said the timing belt may have slipped to the point where the car wont start. The car will still turn over, but not run. I listened for the fuel pump, but the highway was loud and was not able to hear it. Is there any way I can use a jumper to read the OBD1 code? I hope if it was the timing belt, i didn't damage the valve train. ANY help is appreciated.
